Loaded 'Ghost Gun' Seized, Felon Arrested In Late Night Chase: PPD

PETALIUMA, CA — Police found a "ghost-gun" loaded with 30 rounds of ammunition in the car of a man on probation after a chase through Petaluma city streets.

The chase started shortly after 11:50 p.m. Thursday with a routine traffic stop near Highway 101 south of Kastania Road, according to the Petaluma Police Department.

Police tried to pull over the driver, Kenneth Douglas, a 41-year-old resident of Willits, who instead sped away.

Douglas lost control and crashed his vehicle while attempting to maneuver a roundabout at Petaluma Boulevard South and Crystal Lane.

Police said Douglas fled from the vehicle on foot. Officers found him hiding nearby in thick vegetation.

According to the Petaluma Police Department, officers found a loaded, unserialized “ghost gun” equipped with a 30-round high-capacity magazine loaded with 30 rounds of ammunition within 10 feet of Douglas. Police said they also found meth, a meth pipe, and fake ID’s, in Douglas’ possession.

Douglas was on post-release community supervision parole with several outstanding felony warrants, according to police. He is legally prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition and was arrested.
