Officers with the Petaluma Police Department and personnel with the Petaluma Fire Department were dispatched shortly after 8 a.m. Thursday to a report that a motorcycle collided with a fixed pole on the west side of Petaluma Boulevard North, just south of Oak Street.

They found a blue motorcycle and a 41-year-old man lying on the roadway, suffering from major injuries. He was rushed to a local hospital where he was listed in critical condition, Petaluma PD Traffic Officer Garrett Sholin said.
