Mountain Bikers Rescued In Trione-Annadel State Park

Sonoma County helicopter crews rescued three people in two days stranded in the park.

SANTA ROSA, CA — Sonoma County rescue crews had a busy week, successfully rescuing three people stuck within Trione-Annadel State Park.

According to the sheriff's office, crews aboard the Henry-1 helicopter rescued two mountain bikers Tuesday evening and completed a third rescue at the park Wednesday afternoon.

The helicopter was first dispatched to reports of a mountain biker downed in the area of Steve's Trail and Richardson Trail. Ground teams found the patient and began providing care, and EMTs on the helicopter extracted the patient from the scene via a 200-foot line, along with a Santa Rosa Fire Department paramedic. The patient was taken to a waiting ambulance and taken to the hospital for further care.

While the crew was wrapping up, a second call came in about a mountain biker down in the area of the South Burma Trail. The helicopter spotted the patient, and EMTs reached them by line and extracted them, taking them to a waiting ambulance. According to the sheriff's office, the team successfully rescued a third person during a similar incident inside Annadel late Wednesday afternoon.
