Night Work Scheduled This Week Near New Petaluma North SMART Station

Two consecutive nights this week, the railroad crossing at North McDowell Boulevard will be repaved during the overnight hours.

PETALUM, CA — Neighbors of the new Petaluma North SMART station can expect some noise this week as crews perform night work.

The railroad crossing at North McDowell Boulevard will be repaved during the overnight hours Wednesday and Thursday, Dec.18-19. Both nights, the work starts at 10 p.m. and continues until 6 a.m.

The work will include the use of grinding and paving equipment.

"Expect noise and dust, the beeping sound of vehicles backing up, and the use of construction lights at night," SMART officials said in an email update.

Construction has been underway for around 13 months but should wrap up within the next couple of weeks as SMART prepares to open the station to the public.
