Overnight SMART Testing Planned In Petaluma

SMART will be required to use the train horn during the testing period.

PETALUMA, CA — Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit will be recalibrating and testing its railroad crossing warning systems in downtown Petaluma Friday and Saturday.

Petaluma is changing the timing of its traffic signals near Lakeville Highway and D Street near the SMART train station. SMART will accommodate those changes by adjusting its crosswalk warning systems.

The overnight safety testing will start late Friday and continue through Saturday, Petaluma police said.
