3. Jason Sutter Likely Choice for Sonoma School Superintendent (sonomasun.com) — Petaluma City Schools’ assistant superintendent Jason Sutter is reportedly the leading candidate to become Sonoma Valley’s next superintendent, pending background checks. The longtime Sonoma resident previously led Prestwood School and left in 2019 to take district-level roles in Petaluma, where he now oversees human resources and emphasizes joyful, engaging learning environments.

4. Feds sue the Bay Area cities of Morgan Hill, Petaluma over bans on natural gas in new buildings (cbsnews.com) — Petaluma’s ban on natural gas in new buildings is now the target of a federal lawsuit, alongside Morgan Hill, arguing the rules are illegal and too costly. The case follows a court decision striking down Berkeley’s similar ordinance and seeks to permanently block Petaluma’s policy from taking effect, potentially reshaping how future homes and businesses here can be built.
