Pathway Segments Not Yet Open In Petaluma Rohnert Park, SMART Says
SMART has received reports of people walking and jogging in the pathways which will not be complete for several more months.

PETALUMA, CA — SMART reminded the public that pathway segments from Petaluma to Penngrove and Rohnert Park to Santa Rosa are not complete and, therefore, are not open for use.
SMART contractor Stacy & Witbeck/Ghilotti Brothers, Inc. continues to construct the pathway segments from Southpoint Boulevard in Petaluma to Main Street in Penngrove and from Golf Course Drive in Rohnert Park to Bellevue Avenue in Santa Rosa.
"Please be aware that our construction workers have noticed people walking or jogging on the unfinished pathway," SMART said. "For your safety, please follow directions to stay out of the pathway until paving is complete and the pathway has been opened to the public."

Construction activities currently include rough and final grading of the pathway and installing drainage culverts and sheet piles as shown in the photo above.
Work hours are generally 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and construction activities and equipment produce some dust and noise. SMART said residents near the pathways can expect to hear the beeping sound of vehicles backing up. Construction lights at night also may impact residents.

"We anticipate the completion of this pathway segment by December 2024, providing a safe and convenient route for all," SMART said. "Our top priority is your safety, and we are committed to maintaining a safe environment during construction. We kindly ask you to stay clear of all construction equipment and activities."
Once fully completed, SMART's multi-use pathway will traverse some 60 miles alongside the SMART tracks from San Rafael to Cloverdale.
