PETALUMA, CA — A 43-year-old Petaluma man was sentenced to state prison on domestic violence charges after strangling a woman and threatening to kill her and her family, prosecutors said Friday.

Daniel Thomas Beadle was ordered to serve four years and eight months behind bars — the maximum sentence — the Sonoma County District Attorney's Office said in a press release.

Beadle erupted in a jealous rage on March 6, 2022, upon learning the woman had communicated with her ex-husband, prosecutors said.

Over the course of several hours, Beadle strangled the woman about 20 times, prosecutors said. He threatened her life and the lives of her family, forcibly restrained her to prevent escape, and seized her phone and removed her home's landlines to prevent her from calling for help, according to the district attorney's office.

Beadle was convicted March 26 of four offenses, including two felonies related to domestic violence and false imprisonment, prosecutors said.
