Petaluma Police Seek 3 Teens Who Beat Boy At Soccer Practice

Police said the three suspects were wearing ski masks when they grabbed the victim from behind and punched him repeatedly.

PETLUMA, CA — Police are asking the public's help in tracking down three youths who allegedly assaulted a victim described as a juvenile while he was watching a soccer practice in Petaluma Wednesday evening.

Three teenaged boys wearing black ski masks and black clothing allegedly assaulted the young victim in the 300 block of North McDowell Boulevard (Lucchesi Park) around 7 p.m., police said.

The victim told police the three suspects grabbed him from behind and punched him over and over, according to police. Multiple adult bystanders pulled the suspects away from the victim, according to police, and an axe fell out of one of the suspect's pockets, police said.

One of the suspects tried to retrieve the axe from the ground, but one of the adult bystanders kicked it away, according to police. The three suspects fled on foot, with two running northbound on Maria Drive and one of them headed southbound on Maria Drive, police said.

Witnesses told officers that all three of the suspects were wearing black ski masks, with all black clothing, according to police, and were approximately 15-17 years old.
