Petaluma Woman Injured in Alcohol-Related Crash Saturday

A Petaluma woman sustained numerous injuries, including possible broken bones, during a traffic accident Saturday night.

The California Highway Patrol arrested Alberto Retamer Garcia, 42, of Hercules on suspicion of felony DUI.

Police say Garcia, was driving east on Bodega Avenue, near Thompson Lane at 10:35 p.m., when he allowed his Toyota Yaris to cross the double yellow line and strike motorist a 30-year-old Petaluma woman.

“Garcia suffered minor injuries,” according to the CHP. “The other driver suffered multiple non-life threatening injuries including possible multiple broken bones.”

The woman was transported to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital. While speaking to Garcia, officers noted signs of intoxication and began a DUI evaluation. After being cleared by medical personnel, Garcia was arrested and booked for felony DUI.
