School Starts Soon In Petaluma: Dates To Know For 2024-25 School Year

PETALUMA, CA—Summer is almost over for Petaluma students. The first day of school for Petaluma City Schools is Wednesday, Aug. 14. Students in Old Adobe Union and Waugh School districts also start Wednesday, while Liberty School District goes back Thursday, Aug. 15.

It should be noted that the Petaluma City Council voted in May to change the speed limit from 25 mph to 15 mph in school zones. The new, reduced speed limit applies within 500 feet of a school when children are present.

Below are important dates for the 2024-2025 school year for each of the districts.

Petaluma City Schools

• First Day: Wednesday, Aug. 14
• Fall Break: Nov. 25-29
• Winter Break: Dec. 23-Jan. 3 (Return to school Jan. 8)
• Spring Break: April 7-11
• Last Day: Friday, June 6
