Serious Injuries: Petaluma Vehicle Vs. Pedestrian Collision
A pedestrian hit by a vehicle near the intersection of North McDowell Boulevard and Redwood Way is hospitalized with serious injuries.
PETALUMA, CA — A pedestrian hit by a vehicle near the intersection of North McDowell Boulevard and Redwood Way was hospitalized with serious injuries Friday evening.
Petaluma Police Department officers and Petaluma Fire Department paramedics arriving on the scene found the driver and the injured pedestrian still lying in the roadway.
Parademics took the pedestrian to a local hospital for treatment.

The extent of pedestrian's injuries are still unknown.
Police said the driver is cooperating with the investigation and that drugs and alcohol are not believed to be a factor in the collision.

"We want to remind our community that pedestrian safety is a shared responsibility," police said. "Drivers should slow down and remain alert. Pedestrians are encouraged to use marked crossings and stay visible, especially in low light conditions. Together, we can help prevent these types of accidents and keep our streets safe for everyone."
