Sleeping Driver Blocks U.S. 101 On-Ramp; DUI Suspected: PD

The Santa Rosa man was reportedly passed out behind the wheel of his vehicle at the highway's on-ramp from Lakeville Highway, police said.

PETALUMA, CA — A motorist was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence Monday after falling asleep behind the wheel and blocking a northbound U.S. Highway 101 on-ramp in Petaluma, according to police.

The suspect, 32-year-old Santa Rosa resident Ruben Angel-Sepulveda, was reportedly passed out behind the wheel of his vehicle around 10:25 a.m. at the highway's on-ramp from Lakeville Highway, police said.

Fire crews arrived on the scene and transported Angel-Sepulveda to Petaluma Valley Hospital, where police spoke to him and noticed signs of alcohol impairment.

Police said Angel-Sepulveda admitted to drinking one beer, but his blood-alcohol concentration was found to be more than twice the legal limit of .08 percent.
