SMART Trains Delayed By Car Stuck On Railroad Tracks
The incident happened near Lakeville Street in Petaluma.

PETALUMA, CA — SMART trains were delayed for almost three hours Thursday evening when a car became stuck on the railroad tracks in Petaluma.
Shortly before 6:15 p.m., SMART alerted riders about the situation and said all trains were running about 35 minutes late because of the situation.
The Petaluma Police Department notified the public about the incident at 6:36 p.m. and asked people to avoid the area of Lakeville Street at northbound East Washington Street and Lakeville at Madison Street, where the vehicle was lodged on the railroad tracks.

The roadway reopened shortly before 7 p.m.; however, it was nearly 9 p.m. when SMART announced that all trains were back on their normal schedule.
There was no immediate word on why the car was on the tracks or whether anyone was injured.
