Sonoma Burglary Suspect At-Large

The incident happened around 4:53 p.m. Friday at the US Bank on South McDowell Boulevard.

PETALUMA, CA -- Authorities asked the public for help Saturday in finding a man who attempted to use a forged driver's license to withdraw money from a Petaluma bank. The incident happened around 4:53 p.m. Friday at the US Bank on South McDowell Boulevard, according to the Petaluma Police Department.

Police said the suspect went to the bank, located inside a Safeway store, and presented a withdraw slip with a name and account number. The suspect also provided the teller with a California driver's license that matched the name on the withdraw slip.

Police said the teller became suspicious about the transaction and felt the driver’s license that was given was fraudulent. The suspect became more and more nervous and he eventually left, leaving the documents behind.
