Home-Delivery Narcotics: Illegal Narcotics Disguised As Herbs Shipped From Peru
A tip from U.S. Customs and Border Protection led police to substances disguised as herbs and teas: SRPD.
SANTA ROSA, CA β A woman faces charges after investigators intercepted packages mailed to her home containing suspected illegal narcotics disguised as teas and herbal powders from Peru, according to police.
Santa Rosa Police rerouted the packages to allow analysis of its contents after U.S. Customs and Border Protection investigators tipped them off.
βDetectives determined the items in the delivery included approximately 7 ounces of Ayahuasca powder, a psychoactive substance containing the strong hallucinogen dimethyltryptamine (DMT); over 1 ounce of cocoa leaves, a source of cocaine; approximately 6.4 ounces of mescaline powder, another strong hallucinogen; and approximately 3.6 ounces of green cocaine variant," according to the Santa Rosa Police Department.

On Tuesday, police searched the home of the suspected recipient, Tahryn Janet Anderson, 47, in the 1200 block of Yulupa Avenue, police said.
Police said Santa Rosa police detectives seized about "1.9 ounces of Gamma-hydroxybutyrate, commonly referred to as GHB; drug paraphernalia; and packaging materials."

Police placed Andersonβs teenage daughter, who was home during the search, in the custody of a relative, police said.
Anderson was booked into the Sonoma County jail, according to police. Pending charges include possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, possession of a controlled substance, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
