Victim Identified In Fatal Petaluma House Fire
Two residents were able to escape the flames but told firefighters a third resident was still inside.
PETALUMA, CA — The Sonoma County Sheriff-Coroner's Office has identified a person killed in a Petaluma house fire as Kyle Richardson, 61, of Petaluma.
The fire was reported at 4:31 a.m. Sunday at a home in the 100 block of Saratoga Court. When Petaluma firefighters responded they found smoke coming from the open front door of the home and out of a second-story window.
Two residents were able to escape the flames but told firefighters a third resident was still inside. Crew members searched the home and found the person, now identified as Richardson, dead.

The cause of the fire was not immediately determined. The Petaluma Police Department and Sonoma County Fire Prevention Task Force were assisting with the investigation.
The Petaluma Building Department "red-tagged" the home, as it was deemed unsafe to occupy.
