Woman Arrested Following Gas Station Robbery Attempt
Charges against her include violating the terms of her pre-trial release for a separate case.
PETALUMA, CA — A woman was arrested for allegedly trying to rob a gas station in Petaluma earlier this week, police said Friday.
Officers responded at about 11:45 p.m. Wednesday to an attempted robbery reported at the 76 gas station at 101 N. McDowell Blvd.
The station employee reported that a female suspect entered the store, requested a bag, then demanded cash and said she was with the federal government. The employee did not provide any cash and the suspect left but said she would return, according to Petaluma police.

Officers searched the area and found someone matching the description provided of the suspect. She was identified as 34-year-old Holly Newton, who was arrested without incident, police said.
Newton was booked into jail on suspicion of attempted robbery and violating the terms of her pre-trial release for a separate case.
