ARTISTIC RIVALS GO HEAD-TO-HEAD IN PETALUMA

Santa Rosa, Calif. —Who says competition is a bad thing? Fierce rivalry inspired some of the greatest artwork ever produced. Beginning October 24 at the Petaluma campus of Santa Rosa Junior College, cultural historian Bruce Elliott, Ph.D., will stage a weekly series of confrontations between history’s greatest painters, contrasting personal temperaments and artistic techniques -- think  Raphael vs. Michelangelo or Vermeer vs. Rembrandt. Carole L. Ellis Auditorium on the Petaluma SRJC campus, with its giant screen, will be the setting for these artistic duels.
