• State Supreme Court Refuses Case of Two Convicted of LB Man's Murder (mynewsla.com) — A Pico Rivera man and a Montebello man will continue serving 15-years-to-life sentences after the California Supreme Court declined to review their second-degree murder convictions. Prosecutors said they chased and beat a Long Beach resident in nearby Santa Fe Springs in 2019, leaving him unconscious in the street where he was fatally struck by a car, while the driver who hit him stayed and called 911.
   

• Alhambra man gets 29 years to life for killing man who wouldn't give up necklace, an heirloom (pasadenastarnews.com) — A man has been sentenced to 29 years to life for a 2018 robbery and killing in East Los Angeles, a case that began after the victim finished a shift at an In-N-Out in Pico Rivera. Prosecutors said the Montebello resident was followed from a liquor store and shot when he resisted giving up a cherished necklace, while two accomplices previously received prison terms for their roles.
