Piedmont Police Captain Chris Monahan told ABC-7 that the truck "jumped the curb, struck a cement wall, and then wedged in between the wall and a tree."

The driver of a vehicle that had been following the Tesla pulled the survivor from the Cybertruck. The victim was taken to the hospital with serious injuries and rushed into surgery.

Police were dispatched at 3:08 a.m., after the truck notified 911 that it had crashed. A call also came into the dispatch center after the first notification.

KRON reports that police officers arrived within minutes, and the truck was already on fire. The officers tried to put out the flames using fire extinguishers, but the fire was too intense. The fire department was able to extinguish the fire without any issues.

An investigation into the cause of the crash and how fast the vehicle was going is still underway.
