Another Win for PHS Women's Tennis — NCS Div. II Championship Match Coming on Saturday
North Coast Section championship play this weekend for PHS: women's tennis finals, women's volleyball second round, men's football first round.
The Piedmont High School women's tennis team took another step toward a possible NCS (North Coast Section) Division II championship Thursday afternoon when they defeated San Francisco University High School 6-1.
They will face Branson High School in the finals Saturday at 11 a.m. at home.
The top-seeded PHS team entered the playoffs with a 22-3 record for the season, while third seed Branson was 12-9.
Football
Piedmont High will be on the road as the North Coast Section football playoffs begin Saturday.
PHS is ranked 10th in Division IV. They'll play seventh-seeded Moreau Catholic on Saturday, Nov. 16, at 7 p.m. in Hayward.
Volleyball
The women's team plays Marin Catholic Saturday, Nov. 16 at 7 p.m. on the road. See "PHS Women's Volleyball Moves to 2nd Round of NCS Championships" for details.
