Bomb Squad Called To Oakland Neighborhood Near McClymonds High
BREAKING: Officials said a person walking in a nearby park found something that strongly resembled military ordnance.

OAKLAND, CA — The Alameda County Sheriff Department's bomb squad was called out to West Oakland this afternoon on report of a possible explosive device, according to a department spokesman. Deputies were summoned to the 1000 block of 30th Street, near McClymonds High School, at 1:55 p.m.
A person walking in a nearby park found something that strongly resembled military ordnance and took it home, according to Sgt. Ray Kelly.
"It was not functional," Kelly said. "It was not a working piece of ordnance."
