One Person Critically Injured in Oakland Crash Thursday

Police said it does not appear alcohol played a factor in the crash.

Oakland, CA— One person was critically injured Thursday in a crash in Oakland involving four vehicles.

Officers with the Oakland Police Department responded Thursday at 11:35 a.m. to 51st Avenue and Foothill Boulevard to a report of a traffic crash with injuries. Police said a Chevrolet Equinox was traveling north on 51st Street when it crashed with a Chevrolet Camaro traveling east on Foothill Boulevard.

The force of the crash caused the vehicles to crash into two other vehicles. The driver and a passenger in the Camaro were transported to the hospital.

The driver suffered minor injuries, and the passenger suffered critical injuries in the crash, police said.
Police identified the passenger only as a 23-year-old.

There were no other injuries reported in the crash. Police said it does not appear alcohol played a factor in the crash.
