FRIDAY, JULY 19
Escaped pooch — An animal control officer captured a dog at loose on Greenbank Avenue and returned the wayward canine to its owner at 7:40 p.m.
Arrest — Piedmont police took a person into custody in the Piedmont Avenue area about 8 p.m. in connection with violation of a restraining order. The suspect was taken to the Glenn Dyer Detention Facility in Oakland.
Kids in the street — About 11:30 p.m., police broke up a large group of juveniles who were reported in the street and possibly breaking glass on Winsor Avenue.
SATURDAY, JULY 20
Suspicious circumstances — Police questioned a young man seen carrying a BB gun near Dracena Quarry Park shortly before 3 p.m.
SUNDAY, JULY 21
Lost glasses — A pair of eyeglasses found on Thursday on a bench was turned in to Piedmont police.
Trapped dog — An officer helped free a dog stuck in its owner's fence on Hillside Avenue about 8 p.m.
Arrest — One person was taken into custody and transported to the Glenn Dyer Detention Facility after a bicycle stop by a Piedmont police officer near the O'Reilly Auto Parts store at 4400 Broadway, across the street from Oakland Technical High School.
MONDAY, JULY 22
Burglary — A burglary was reported shortly before 9 a.m. at a residential construction site on Sea View.
Vehicle recovery — A 1996 Mitsubishi reported stolen from Oakland was located on Olive Avenue at 11:12 a.m. and released to its registered owner.
