Police Blotter: SUV Stolen, 2 Hit & Runs, 2 Arrests

Incidents highlighted in the blotter below were recorded in the Piedmont Police Department log. Information was supplied by the police and does not indicate any convictions.

Tuesday, April 2

Bike stolen – At 2:35 a.m., the same person in the 200 block of Scenic Avenue who on April 1 reported a stolen bicycle again reported a bike stolen from the residence.

Non-injury accident – At 1:18 p.m., police received a report of a non-injury accident at Moraga and Highland avenues.

Graffiti on garage – A woman in the 1600 block of Grand Avenue phoned in to report graffiti on her garage.

Extra patrol request – At 8:24 p.m., police received a request for extra patrol from the 200 block of Crocker Avenue after a woman had her purse stolen earlier in the day in Castro Valley.

Warrant arrest – At about 8:30 p.m., police arrested a male on an outstanding no-bail warrant and took him to the Glenn Dyer Detention Facility in Oakland.

Wednesday, April 3

DUI arrest – At 12:20 a.m., police took into custody a driver arrested on suspicion of drunk driving at Sunnyslope and Grand avenues. The vehicle was stopped at 11:58 p.m.

Non-injury accident – At 12:52 p.m., police received a report of a non-injury accident at King Avenue and Hampton Road.

Hit and run accident – At 2:58 p.m., police received a report of a hit and run accident in 300 block of El Cerrito Avenue where a gray Volvo was hit by an older brown pick-up that fled the scene.

Thursday, April 4

Auto theft – At 6:52 a.m., a man in the 100 block of Dracena Avenue reported the theft of a blue Honda CR-V between 7 p.m. and 5:15 a.m.

Hit and run damage – At 5:18 p.m., a woman in the 300 block of Olive Avenue reported a damaged garage and gutter from a hit and run.
