Registration Open for Merritt Kids College Camp

From Peralta Colleges: For the sixth year, Merritt College will be offering its exciting summer camp that combines friendships and fun with college and careers. This year the camp will be held June 12-23, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for just $200, which includes an official Merritt Kids College t-shirt. (A non-refundable deposit of $50 is due upon registration.)

The camp’s popularity has grown each year as new hands-on experiences have been offered through Merritt’s Career and Technical Education programs. Presented by full-time Merritt instructors, campers have gotten their hands dirty while learning gardening techniques (Landscape Horticulture), discovered CSI secrets while peering through microscopes (Microscopy), contemplated a career in law enforcement (Administration of Justice), found out the best foods to eat (Nutrition); and got facts about entering the medical field (Nursing), among other career presentations.

The exciting project-oriented career classes are mixed in with art projects like painting ceramic tiles, physical activities including the popular capoeira martial arts, a talent show, and other activities that allow time for campers to make friends and enjoy the summer sun in a total camp experience.

A non-refundable deposit of $50 (cash or check) must be received by June 5 to confirm your space.
