Rodeo Fire Spreads To 60+ Acres

The blaze began shortly after noon and grew to 15 acres in less than an hour.

RODEO, CA — A wildfire burning Monday afternoon in Rodeo quickly spread to over 60 acres.

Called the Rodeo Fire, the blaze began shortly after noon and grew to 15 acres in less than an hour, according to Cal Fire, which reported that as of about 1:45 p.m., it had spread to 62 acres. The spread appeared to have slowed as the day went on, with the fire having reached 65 acres as of 8 p.m.

The blaze broke out in the area southeast of Clayes Court and Stirling Drive.

The cause was under investigation Monday afternoon.
