Dirt Bike Rider Victim of Hit and Run by Vehicle Last Week

A dirt bike rider claims he was struck last week by a motorist who fled the scene near a high school in Hercules, sending him flying 30-feet

HERCULES- A dirt bike rider claims he was struck last week by a motorist who fled the scene near a high school in Hercules, according to a police report released Wednesday.

The hit-and-run incident apparently occurred on Feb. 25 at about 11:30 p.m. by Hercules High School at 1900 Refugio Valley Road, according to Hercules police.

The man, who did not report this until Tuesday afternoon, said he was ejected from his dirt bike and suffered injuries that he has not been treated for, according to police.

The man reported that he was turning into the entrance of the high school to check on his dirt bike’s headlight. As he slowed to make the turn on eastbound Refugio Valley Road, a red vehicle reportedly hit him.

Police said the man described being thrown 30 feet into the intersection and suffering back and arm injuries. He said the vehicle never attempted to stop.

He has not sought medical aid for his injuries, according to police.
