Man Arrested For Trying to Use Fake $100 Bills in Hercules
Police say he was in possession of multiple counterfeit bills.

HERCULES, CA- A man was arrested last weekend for allegedly trying to use a counterfeit $100 bill at a Burger King in Hercules.
Walter Johnson, 40, was arrested on suspicion of possession of a counterfeit bill and violation of probation.
Police officers responded at 7:59 p.m. Saturday to the Burger King at 844 Willow Ave. on a report of a man attempting to pass a counterfeit $100 bill and then fleeing the area with another man in a gold-colored car.

Police said an officer located the men at a gas station, and one of the men, later identified as Johnson, approached the officer and started explaining the incident that occurred at the Burger King.
The man said he did not know the bill was counterfeit, and said he received it from an acquaintance, police said. Police said Johnson told the officer he did not know the acquaintance by name.

During a subsequent search, the officer located another counterfeit $100 bill in Johnson's possession, police said.
Police said they also discovered a lost or stolen license plate in the trunk of the vehicle.
