Pinole Police Close Public Safety Building Over COVID Concerns
Pinole joins at least five other agencies in the Bay Area that have shuttered offices temporarily in the past week due to COVID.

PINOLE, CA — Police in Pinole have closed the Public Safety Building until further notice due to concerns over COVID-19, joining several other cities and school districts in the region that have taken similar measures in recent days.
Pinole police announced the temporary closure effective Monday in a 7:29 p.m. Sunday tweet, which noted officers will continue to patrol the city and phone lines will still be open for the public to report crimes at 510-724-1111.

- Newark closed city and police offices Tuesday and will reopen them on Jan. 18;
- Hayward City Hall offices are closed on Fridays for the month of January;
- West Contra Costa Unified School District closed administrative offices Friday for two days and will reopen Tuesday;
- Brentwood closed City Hall, police headquarters and the Municipal Services Center on Friday until further notice; and
- Vallejo City Hall is closed beginning Monday through Feb. 28.
