Contra Costa DUI Suspect Kills Self After Police Chase
BREAKING: The man, who was an Antioch resident, died in Pittsburg.

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA -- A man suspected of drunk driving led authorities on a pursuit in Contra Costa County late on the night of Jan. 12 before killing himself, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The CHP said officers were investigating 45-year-old Ronald Sanders, of Antioch, on suspicion of DUI around 11 pm at Harbor Court near Harbor Street in Pittsburg when Sanders fled the scene heading west on
state Highway 4.
Police said officers pursed Sanders as he exited Port Chicago Highway and parked his vehicle in a driveway on Gratton Way.

Several CHP officers were parked behind him, when Sanders, still in his vehicle, allegedly brandished a gun, turned it on himself and discharged it.
According to the CHP, there were no other injuries during the incident, and no officers fired their weapons.

The CHP says its Golden Gate Divisions Special Investigative Unit is investigating the incident.
