Driver Crashes Into Pleasant Hill Restaurant In Suspected DUI
The downtown business was closed at the time of the crash, video shows, and there was no one inside the building.

PLEASANT HILL, CAβ Police in Pleasant Hill Friday morning arrested a man in connection with driving under the influence after he reportedly crashed his truck into a Sweet Tomatoes restaurant. Alejandro Mendez-Valencia, 23, of Fresno, was arrested on suspicion of DUI, according to the Pleasant Hill Police Department.
On Friday at 2:08 a.m., police received a report a truck had crashed into the front of a building. Responding officers found the truck had driven into the business, and the driver, identified as Mendez-Valencia, was still seated in the driver's seat of the vehicle.
The business was closed at the time of the crash, and there was no one inside the building.

Mendez-Valencia was not injured in the crash, and after medical personnel examined him, he was ultimately arrested on suspicion of DUI.
Police said the building did not sustain structural damage beyond broken windows and broken metal window frames, and restaurant management indicated they would likely be open for business Friday.
