PHPD: Stolen Car Yields Other Criminal Evidence

Update: A San Jose woman is being held on $100,000 bail on drug, stolen vehicle and identity theft credit card charges.

Update, 5:05 p.m. Thursday, clarifying details of arrest.

A Pleasant Hill police officer pulled over a stolen car at 10 p.m. Wednesday that contained drugs and credit cards in other people's names, resulting in the arrest of a San Jose woman, police said.

Alison Terese Hash, 37, is being held on $100,000 bail. Police expect more charges to follow further investigation.

On a hunch, Officer Drew Sanchez checked a license plate with a dispatcher and confirmed that the car was stolen, Sgt. Tim Frank said. Sanchez pulled the woman over, police said.

BRIEF STATEMENT OF INCIDENT: On 2/6/13 a PHPD officer conducted a records check on a vehicle driving in the 1300 block of Contra Costa Boulevard. The check revealed the vehicle had been reported as stolen to the San Mateo Sheriff’s Office. A high risk vehicle stop was conducted and Alison Terese Hash was taken into custody. Recovered in the vehicle were numerous credit cards issued to Hash and others. Also located were numerous credit card receipts for purchases made in several different counties within the State and narcotics. Hash was booked into county jail for Stolen Vehicle, Identity Theft, False Impersonation, Theft of Access Cards and Possession of Controlled Substances. Hash is being held on $100,000 bail. Further investigation is likely to result in additional criminal charges.
