Police: Check Your ATM For This Skimmer Before Using

PLEASANT HILL - Police in Pleasant Hill and San Leandro are warning users of ATMs to check for molded ATM Skimmers that match the scanners already in place on the machines.

Thieves attach the illegal Skimmers to the machines.

As your ATM card moves through an illegal Skimmer to the legitimate ATM Scanner, private data contained on - and linked to - your personal card can be stolen.

Police suggest you pull on the scanner before using it to make sure it hasn’t been tampered with.
