Road Reopened After Tractor-Trailer Fire Snarls I-580 Traffic

Drivers were advised to expect delays after a vehicle fire shut down the right lane and an exit on I-580 during the morning commute.

PLEASANTON, CA — A tractor-trailer fire on westbound Interstate Highway 580 at Santa Rita Road caused major traffic delays during the Tuesday morning commute.

The road reopened as of 1:15 p.m.

The fire shut down the right lane and offramp, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Drivers were advised to expect delays, CHP said. Traffic appeared to be backed up to the area of First Street in Livermore as of 8:30 a.m.
