Livermore Teens Accused Of Robbing Pleasanton Bank Customers: Police

A 15 and 16-year-old were arrested on charges of robbing a couple outside a Pleasanton bank, the latest of a string of juvenile arrests.

PLEASANTON, CA — A 15 and 16-year-old were arrested Friday on suspicion of robbing a husband and wife outside a Pleasanton bank, according to the Pleasanton Police Department. This marks the third time in the past month that juveniles were accused of committing serious crimes in Pleasanton and Livermore, and police believe the incidents are related. One suspect remains at-large as of Monday morning.

On Friday, the Pleasanton Police Department responded to reports that the two suspects assaulted a husband and wife outside a Pleasanton bank, stole their cashier’s check valued at approximately $1,100, and fled the scene in a stolen vehicle, PPD spokesperson Teri Yan told Patch.

Shortly after the Pleasanton Police Department broadcast an alert to nearby agencies, officers from the Livermore Police Department and Dublin Police Services located the suspect vehicle. When police tried to make contact, the suspect vehicle collided with other cars on North P Street in Livermore.

No injuries were reported.

The 15 and 16-year-old were booked into Juvenile Hall on charges of first-degree robbery, Yan said. The third suspect remains at large. The stolen cashier’s check and handgun were recovered from the vehicle.

Both suspects are Livermore residents, and believed to be associated with the 12 and 17-year-old suspects involved in previous robberies. Those two suspects are accused of donning face masks and physically assaulting victims at various ATMs around Pleasanton to demand cash. Reports indicate that this happened at least four to five times. The two suspects are also booked in Juvenile Hall.

In May and June, three Livermore juveniles aged 12 to 15 were arrested in connection with 49 car burglaries and vandalisms that took place in downtown Livermore from May 5 to June 3, according to the Livermore Police Department.

Juvenile Hall would not accept the suspects because the offenses were non-violent, so all three were cited, and released to their parents.
