Pleasanton To Consider Up To 733 New Housing Units
The City Council will consider advancing discussion of two applications to build homes in an industrial part of East Pleasanton.

PLEASANTON, CA — The Pleasanton City Council will consider moving forward discussion of two applications to build housing in an industrial area in East Pleasanton north of Stanley Boulevard and Shadow Cliffs. If the project moves forward, the city would need to annex part of the land. Several past proposals to develop this land have been abandoned, according to a city staff report.
USL/Steelwave Properties owns 418 acres in the East Pleasanton planning area, and it has submitted an application to build housing on a total of 88 acres, according to the report. The first application is to build 194 single-family homes and 49 ADUs on 25.56 acres just east of the city limits, in between Chatham Road and just north of Busch Road. The homes would be anywhere from 3000 to 4000 square feet, with four to five bedrooms.
The second application proposes building up to 569 senior housing units on around 62 acres of land immediately east. It would include 357 single-family residences and 212 multi-family independent and/or assisted living units. 114 units would be reserved for low-income households. The proposal also includes a clubhouse, open spaces, and activity areas.
