PLEASANTON, CA — Horses can have a profound effect on wellbeing. Numerous studies have shown that equine therapy and interaction can reduce anxiety, depression, PTSD, and increase self-esteem, confidence, trust, and emotional regulation, among other benefits.

Connected Horse is a nonprofit that offers equine-assisted programs for people living with dementia and their caregivers in Pleasanton and around the Bay Area. The free equine workshops help provide families moments of peace, connection, and dignity during trying times.

The nonprofit is hosting its annual fundraising event "Lassos with Love," at the Five Star Equestrian Center in Pleasanton on Sunday, Sept. 7 from 2 to 4:30 p.m. The afternoon will include a live performance from Kansas Carradine, an equestrian performer and niece of actor Keith Carradine. Guests will enjoy a horse greeting reception, al fresco dining, silent and live auctions, and the opportunity to meet and interact with horses.
