Pleasanton Has 5th Best Schools In Bay Area, Gets Overall A+ Grade: Niche
Pleasanton is one of the best places in the Bay Area and California to raise and educate a kid, according to ranking website Niche.

PLEASANTON, CA — Pleasanton has some of the best schools and is one of the best places to raise a family in the Bay Area, according to rankings from Niche.
The ranking website - which ranked PUSD as the best school district in Alameda County in 2024 - ranked Pleasanton 4th out of 129 for "Places with the Best Public Schools in the San Francisco Bay Area," and 5th out of 127 for "Best Suburbs to Raise a Family in the San Francisco Bay Area." It was also ranked 9th out 127 for "Best Suburbs to Live in the Bay Area".
Pleasanton also ranked 11th out of 526 for "Best Suburbs to Raise a Family in California" and 16th out of 526 for "Suburbs with the Best Schools in California."

The rankings were assigned based on online reviews and data from the Department of Education, the U.S. Census, the FBI, and more.

Pleasanton received an overall grade of A+, grades it also received in the categories of "Public Schools," "Good for Families," and "Health and Fitness." It got in the B range for categories like "Jobs," "Crime & Safety" (B-) and "Nightlife."
Lowest marks were in "Cost of Living" (D+) and "Housing" (C+).
Dublin received an overall grade of A, and was ranked 29th for "Best Suburbs to Live in the San Francisco Bay Area." Livermore received an overall grade of A-, and was ranked 65th in "Best Suburbs to Live in the San Francisco Bay Area."
