Pleasanton PD Hosts Teen Police Academy
The Teen Police Academy is a three week program to help develop stronger partnerships with the police and teens and will start June 13.

From Pleasanton PD:The Pleasanton Police Department is accepting applications from Pleasanton youth for its annual summer Teen Police Academy, a three-week program beginning June 13th. This will be the fifteenth Teen Academy class the Department has presented and a limited number of openings are available for enrollment.
The goal of Teen Academy is to develop stronger partnerships between the Pleasanton Police Department and youth it serves. Participants will have a unique opportunity to learn about law enforcement procedures from officers themselves, including such topics as Patrol Procedures, Dispatch Communications, SWAT, Investigations, Juvenile Traffic Issues, K-9, Evidence Collection and Animal Services. The Academy is offered free of charge to local high school students, between the ages of 14 and 18. This program consists of nine classes that are three hours each. Most classes are held from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. with exceptions for graduation and a jail tour. Classes will be held on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays on the following dates: June 13, 14, 15, 20, 21, 22, 27, 28, and will conclude with a graduation dinner on Thursday, June 29th, 2017.
