Pleasanton's Hometown Holiday Parade On Saturday: What To Know

PLEASANTON, CA — Pleasanton's Hometown Holiday Celebration is back this weekend.

Main Street is slated to at 3:30 p.m. ahead of the 5 p.m. parade, which will feature marching bands, floats, community groups and more.

The parade will proceed south down Main Street, from the Main Street Bridge to Abbie Street.

The tree lighting will be held in front of Museum on Main, under the "Pleasanton" arch. The city estimated the tree lighting will begin at 6:45 p.m., though the timing depends on when the parade wraps up.

The tree lighting ceremony will feature music and a tree lighting led by Mayor Karla Brown. Rumor has it that Santa Claus himself may make a cameo.

Road Closures

Parade participants will stage at Amador Valley High School and Santa Rita Road will be closed from Black Avenue to Old Stanley Boulevard, according to the city. Southbound traffic will be diverted into northbound lanes, which will be shared with northbound drivers.

Main Street will be closed along the parade route, and the following streets will be closed at Main:

  • Del Valle Parkway
  • Vervais Road
  • Ray Street
  • St. John Street
  • Spring Street
  • St. Mary Street
  • Division Street
  • Rose Avenue
  • Neal Avenue
  • Angela Street
  • Abbie Street from Main to First streets
  • Old Bernal Road from Peters Avenue to Main Street
