Widmer-World Reopens Wednesday After 2020 Closure
The 20th Widmer-World holiday lights extravaganza is back on for 2021, organizers announced.

PLEASANTON, CA — Tri-Valley holiday lights aficionados, rejoice: Widmer-World is back on in 2021 for its 20th anniversary, organizers announced this week.
The holiday lights extravaganza was open to the public as of Wednesday. It has featured hundreds of thousands of lights in years past.
Guests were asked to practice COVID-19 safety protocols. Organizers will be doing final test runs on animation and lighting displays in the early days of Widmer-World, organizers said.

"Hope to see you soon for a magical walk through ... our display," organizers said Tuesday on Facebook.
Widmer-World was canceled in 2020 due to pandemic-related safety concerns, but has drawn more than 10,000 people each holiday season in years past.

This year's decor roundup will include new items, including a Ferris wheel feature with hand-painted characters.
