• More than 9,500 PG&E customers without power across Mendocino County • The Mendocino Voice (mendovoice.com) — Point Arena is among several Mendocino Coast communities hit by a major PG&E outage affecting more than 9,500 customers countywide, with no restoration time yet available. The outages began late Tuesday into Wednesday after strong winds and heavy rain. Residents are urged to prepare for power to be out for hours or even days and to follow official safety guidance for generators, food, and medical needs.
   

• Mendocino County debates climate language to navigate Trump admin funding concerns (localnewsmatters.org) — Mendocino County supervisors are reworking climate language in their 2026 legislative platform, a move that will shape how funding and resilience projects affect coastal communities like Point Arena. Supervisor Ted Williams, whose district includes Point Arena, is pushing to restore the term “climate change,” while colleagues weigh whether softer wording might protect federal funding under the Trump administration.
