After Two-Month Renovation, Café Lily Re-Opens Friday Morning

Nobody was hurt when a car crashed into the cafe near Old Poway Park in early July.

A new and improved will re-open its doors Friday morning after a two-month renovation closed the coffee and sandwich shop for most of the summer, owner Sean Sassani announced on their Facebook page.

In early July, . While nobody was hurt, the business was damaged and it was decided to renovate the entire café rather than simply fix what was broken.

“It’s going to have a new personality after the makeover,” Sassani told Patch last month.

The car hit the north wall of the building, damaging the interior of the café. The familiar front porch was not damaged and remains the same as before the crash.

Located across the street from and , Café Lily opens at 7 a.m. for early risers and serves lunch until 4 p.m. Sassani will continue the from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., an opportunity for local musicians to show off their talent.
