Help Wanted: Sheriff’s Department Has Jobs to Fill

The department is looking to fill 2,000 positions by 2016.

The San Diego Sheriff’s Department is currently recruiting applicants for a variety of jobs throughout the county, particularly assignments in law enforcement, courts and detention services bureaus.

The department is looking to fill 2,000 positions by 2016, including jobs at the new Las Colinas Detention Facility in Santee and other detention facilities as a result of the recent California prison realignment.

Three recruiting events are planned where representatives from the Personnel Division will be able to answer questions:

• This Sunday at the Chargers-Titans game. Qualcomm Stadium between ramps L and K, 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

• Miramar Air Show, behind the grandstands near food court C. Friday and Sunday, Oct. 12 and 14, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Poway is one of nine cities in the county that contract with the for law enforcement services.
