Juvenile Found Shot in Laundry Room on Carriage Road

Sheriff’s deputies responding to reports of vandalism at an apartment complex on Carriage Road found a 15-year-old male that had been shot four times, according to Sgt. Tim Matzkiw. He was taken to Palomar Pomerado Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the Sheriff’s Department.

A man that lives in the complex has been detained in connection with the shooting but has not been arrested, Matzkiw said.

Deputies were called to Carriage Road Apartments near Buckley Street at 12:58 p.m. after a disturbance was reported. The juvenile was found wounded in a laundry room on the grounds of the apartment complex.

Neighbors who spoke to Patch said they believed the shooting was in self-defense. An investigation is under way, said Matzkiw.
