• Sheriff's officials: Poway student created video of weapons and violence (10news.com) — Deputies are investigating after a Garden Road Elementary School student in Poway allegedly shared a social media video showing weapons and violence, but authorities say there is no current threat to the campus. The sheriff’s Poway Station identified one student as acting alone and is urging families to report any future concerns through school resource deputies, Crime Stoppers, or the local station’s phone line. 
• Holiday fun for all at County Medical Therapy Unit (countynewscenter.com) — Families in Poway should know there’s a County Medical Therapy Unit satellite office right in town, offering physical and occupational therapy for youth with serious physical challenges. County therapists are also hosting accessible, low-stress holiday events at several MTU locations so children with disabilities can enjoy seasonal fun without overwhelming crowds or environments.
• Dominic Rocha named MVP of Falcon football team (sandiegouniontribune.com) — Poway football fans will recognize their team as the playoff opponent that ended Torrey Pines’ season, where senior standout Dominic Rocha still earned MVP honors for the Falcons. Rocha’s two-way play, nearly 1,000 all-purpose yards, and leadership now carry into his role as Torrey Pines soccer captain while he plans for studies abroad after graduation.
