Poway Crime Report: April 24-May 5

Parked vehicles are an easy target for thieves. Numerous vehicle burglaries were reported in Poway over the last two weeks.

Tuesday, April 24

An electronic notebook was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 13700 block of Buford Way.

Two items worth $50 each were reported stolen from a vehicle in the 12800 block of Pinefield Road.

A subject stop in the 12900 block of Poway Road led to the arrest of a 42-year-old male for felony possession of a controlled substance at 7:50 a.m.

Two items with a combined value of $850 were reported stolen from a vehicle in the 17200 block of Saint Andrews Drive.

Two electronic notebooks valued at $1,000 each were reported stolen from a building in the 13200 block of Danielson Street.

Electronic components valued at $410 were reported stolen from a vehicle in the 12800 block of Firbrook Lane.

A stolen car was recovered in the 14900 block of Amso Street.

Wednesday, April 25

A 20-year-old male was arrested for misdemeanor shoplifting from Walmart on Community Road. Six items with a combined value of $32.96 were recovered.

A backpack, portable music device and $10 worth of gasoline were reported stolen from a vehicle in the 12800 block of Elmfield Lane.

A DVD player and other items with a combined value of $1,680 were reported stolen from a vehicle in the 13300 block of Silver Lake Drive.

A 24-year-old male was arrested for suspicion of DUI on Community Road at Poway Road at 12:48 a.m.

The theft of $4,000 worth of coins was reported in the 13400 block of Standish Drive.

Thursday, April 26

A vehicle was reported vandalized in the 12800 block of Orpha Court between 7 a.m. and 2:45 p.m. Damage was estimated at $15,000.

A juvenile was arrested for misdemeanor shoplifting from Walmart on Community Road. Shoes and other clothing valued at $48.79 were recovered.

Friday, April 27

A computer was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 14900 block of Heath Drive.

A residential burglary was reported in the 12200 block of Malabar Drive. Two items with a combined value of $450 were reported stolen.

A purse and other items valued at $150 were reported stolen from a vehicle on Lake Poway Road at Espola Road.

Saturday, April 28

Three pairs of pants with a combined value of $300 were reported stolen from a vehicle in the 16200 block of Espola Road.  

A 23-year-old male was arrested on a felony parole violation in the 13600 block of Pomerado Road at 2:30 a.m.

A 49-year-old male was arrested for misdemeanor shoplifting from Walmart on Community Road. Items valued at $32.25 were reported stolen.

A 40-year-old female and a 37-year-old male were arrested for possession of a controlled substance and shoplifting from Kohl’s on Gregg Court, both felonies. Clothing valued at $423 were recovered.

Sunday, April 29

An 18-year-old male was arrested for suspicion of DUI on Twin Oaks Valley Road at Shubin Lane at 3:51 a.m.

Monday, April 30

A car valued at $18,000 was reported stolen in the 12600 block of Mustang Drive.

Tuesday, May 1

The theft of $1,610 worth of items from a vehicle was reported in the 13700 block of Janette Lane.

A license plate was reported stolen in the 13600 block of Janette Lane.

A stolen car was recovered in the 12900 block of Poway Road.

Two power tools with a combined value of $520 were reported stolen from Home Depot on Tech Center Drive.

A computer valued at $1,500 was reported stolen from a residence in the 13600 block of Quiet Hills Drive.

Wednesday, May 2

A backpack and other items valued at $300 were reported stolen from a vehicle in the 13600 block of Janette Lane.

Property vandalism was reported in the 13000 block of Alpine Drive. Damage was estimated at $300.

Thursday, May 3

A license plate was reported stolen in the 13600 block of Janette Lane.

Saturday, May 5

An SUV valued at $5,500 was reported stolen in the 12500 block of Oak Knoll Road between 2:45 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.

A 50-year-old female was robbed of her purse in the 13600 block of Poway Road around 9:15 p.m.
