Market for Luxury Homes Showing Improvement

1. A new report finds luxury home values edged up slightly in the San
Diego region in the fourth quarter of 2010 compared to the previous quarter.
According to an index released yesterday by First Republic Bank, the average
luxury home in San Diego is now $1.71 million.

2. One of the world's oldest tennis tournaments gets under way today in La Jolla. The 122nd Pacific Coast Doubles Championships features the top men's collegiate and independent tennis players in the country. The tournament began in 1890 to pit the top players of the East Coast and West Coast against each other, and has been at its current location at the La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club since 1942.

3. Mayor Don Higginson will be featured at the State of the City breakfast at Maderas Golf Club this morning beginning at 7:30.
